Volunteering is widely recognized as a key strategy of community engagement and participation. It provides much-needed support and services at community level while advancing civic and philanthropic values across society. Volunteer engagement builds organizational capacity through employee and volunteer collaboration, creating high-impact and meaningful opportunities that produce greater influence and outcomes for the community and the organization.
Organizational Expectation of Volunteers
Every volunteer represents the mission, values and public trust of GHF.
Demonstrate personal qualities including motivation, enthusiasm, honesty, reliability and commitment.
Represent GHF in a professional manner as outlined in the Volunteer Engagement Policy.
Comply with all volunteer policies and procedures, particularly in relation to confidentiality, data protection, incident reporting, use of social media, health and safety, smoking in the workplace, customer care, equality and diversity.
Participate in induction sessions and training relevant to the assigned volunteering role.
Source funding to execute approved projects in line with GHF objectives.
Undertake volunteering roles at agreed times and inform the named contact as soon as possible when unable to attend.
Give adequate notice when unable to continue with a volunteering role.
Raise any issues of concern relating to the volunteering role with the named contact.
